Proteas & Papercups

I did a fancy photoshoot with my 2-yr-old niece in South Carolina, mostly to get some snapshots of my Hobo Hairclips (which are now for sale). We named it Hobo Hair Clips & Strings of Pearls; thanks to Bob Marley and Beyonce, we danced our way to the end and used mini M&Ms as bites of bribery. What a blast it was.

He glanced with rapid eyesThat hurried all abroad,—They looked like frightened beads, I thought;He stirred his velvet headLike one in danger; cautious,I offered him a crumb,And he unrolled his feathersAnd rowed him softer homeThan oars divide the ocean,Too silver for a seam,Or butterflies, off banks of noon,Leap, splashless, as they swim.

He glanced with rapid eyes
That hurried all abroad,—
They looked like frightened beads, I thought;
He stirred his velvet head

Like one in danger; cautious,
I offered him a crumb,
And he unrolled his feathers
And rowed him softer home

Than oars divide the ocean,
Too silver for a seam,
Or butterflies, off banks of noon,
Leap, splashless, as they swim.

“A dog doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor, big or small, young or old. He doesn’t care if you’re not smart, not popular, not a good joke-teller, not the best athlete, nor the best-looking person. To your dog, you are the greatest, the smartest, the nicest human being who was ever born. You are his friend and protector…” -Marley & Me
Remember this, because we owe it to them to respond with that same goodness & loyalty.
